JAKARTA, Carvaganza.com - Since it was launched for the first time in 2019, the Toyota GR Supra has immediately attracted controversy because it was built based on the latest BMW Z4. In fact, the Supra has been known as Toyota's flagship sports car which has a legendary reputation from its predecessor.

Not long after launching in Indonesia, we once launched the GR Supra at the Sentul Circuit, Bogor, West Java, to test its performance. Admittedly, its performance as a sports car on a circuit deserves a thumbs up, especially to pamper speed lovers.

Some time later, at the beginning of 2020, we again had the opportunity to be more intimate with this fifth generation Supra. For several days we were with Supra to explore this car more deeply, not only about performance.

Instead, we wanted to know how the quality of the Supra is used as a vehicle for driving in daily traffic conditions in the city. I am also curious as to what the sensation of carrying this Rp.1,995 billion car is like driving with a sedan, MPV, or hatchback which are more commonly carried daily.

Starting from traffic jams, toll roads, to the housing complex, we took Supra along during the test drive. Not only that, considering that this car adopts a lot of components from BMW, we also want to feel whether a premium touch goes into the Supra, which looks aggressive on the outside.

For the record, the GR Supra relies on a 3.0 liter in-line twin-scroll turbo six-cylinder engine, which combines 338 hp power and 500 Nm of torque to the rear wheels. The engine is mated to an 8-speed sports automatic transmission, which ensures smooth and efficient shifting of each gear, without sacrificing performance.
